Raymond “Poppy” Lindow passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife Melvina “Binnie” Lindow. He is survived by his only daughter, Tammy (Dave) Merrick; his grandchildren, Sara (Landon) Kenderdine, and Brittney (Dylan) Yoest; and his great grandchildren Natalie, Allie-Grace, Coralyn, Adiley, Kadence, and Andy. He is also survived by several other family members. He served his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War. Ray was a huge Chevy fan. He was a long time member of the Binghamton Shad Club, and a New England Patriots fan. Ray loved working with his hands both outdoors and on model cars. He was an animal lover, and loved spending time with his dogs Nubbies, Midgie, and Charlie. He always had a way of making people smile either with his corny jokes or feisty attitude.
His family would like to send a special thank you to Lourdes Hospital for their excellent care of him. The family would also like to thank Bridgewater Nursing Home for treating him like family and taking very good care of him the short time he was there.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation memorial Thursday, December 21, from 2:00-3:00pm at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, followed by burial in Floral Park Cemetery in Johnson City. Immediately following the burial, there will be a gathering to honor Ray at the Hillcrest American Legion Post 1194.
