Edith Mary Brooks

Edith M. Brooks, 92, of Binghamton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 11, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband Earl Brooks, parents Ralph & Ursula Jordan, brothers Ralph, Robert and Ronald, stepsister Ginny Baker and stepbrother James Jordan.

She is survived by her children Lynette Brooks, Binghamton, Robin Latham, Castle Creek, Kathryn (Tim) Engel, Bainbridge, Patricia (Robert) Sager, Binghamton, Susan Zick, Endwell and David Brooks, Montana; grandchildren Rashaud (Deb)Smith, Thomas Smith, Jennifer Fassett, Shaun Sager, Catherine Sager and Sarah Zick; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her faithful furry companion Zeva. We would like to thank her special neighbors Martin Narozny, Sally Newman and Dennis & Pat Toaspern for always giving her a helping hand.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church for many years. She graduated from Union Endicott High School and Binghamton Psychiatric Nursing School and later retired from the Binghamton Psychiatric Center. She enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels, knitting, crocheting and baking.

At Edith’s request, there will be no calling hours. A Private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing kindly consider donations in Edith’s name to Willows Wings Animal Sanctuary Inc., PO Box 217, Maine, NY 13802.
