Daniel J. Williams, 48, went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2023, after a courageous and unrelenting battle with Leukemia. He was predeceased by his father, Robert J. Williams, and his mother, Lois L. Williams. Dan is survived by his daughter, Avolyn Williams, the inspiration and light of his life; his sister, Gwen (Ed) Mungo; brother, David (Tonya) Williams; his nephews, Brock, Axel, and Henry; nieces, Gina, and Ashley (Jeff); several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Thank you to Sarah and AJ for always caring. Dan held a special place in his heart for the both of you. Thank you to Jess and the entire Griffin family, for years of irreplaceable memories. Dan was a professional firefighter for over 23 years and completed his final tour as a Lieutenant with the Village of Endicott Fire Department. He was proud of his career and the camaraderie that was built with his fellow firefighters. Dan’s skill set in life was unparalleled and the only thing it lacked was limits. He could fix anything that was put in front of him. Music was a pillar in Dan’s life, and he was a former member of the Edward P. Maloney Memorial Pipe Band. If there was ever a hierarchy for name that tune, Dan would be instructing the master class. He didn’t always listen to 80’s Rock, but when he did, so did everyone else at the red light. Dan loved the outdoors and spending time walking through the woods with his beloved K-9, Cooper. They both were members of the Amigo Search & Rescue team. Anytime Dan had a day off in the warm weather he could be found up at his land mowing the fields on his tractor. Camping was also deep love for Dan and recent summers were spent at the parks with great friends. We will be forever grateful to the staff at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12:00 noon at the First United Methodist Church of Chenango Bridge, River Rd. The family will receive friends and family at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kevin Guest House, a place made to feel like home, when home seems so far away.
