Dale W. Tweedie, 82 passed away suddenly on Monday October 12, 2020. Born June 12, 1938 in Walton, he was the son of the late Walter Tweedie and Alice Barnes Tweedie. Dale graduated from WCS in 1956. In 1961 he married Dolores Lakin. Dale and his partner George Strong owned S& T Construction-specializing in crane services. He worked as a crane operator for many, many years. As a young man Dale was a proud member of the National Guard. He was an avid square dancer belonging to Shuffling Shoes Western Square Dance Club. One of Dales favorite past times was creating beautiful wooden ornaments, toys and puzzles in his home woodworking shop. He loved going to flea markets to find treasures to add to his many collections. He enjoyed attending his high school class reunion get togethers, looked forward to his daily morning trips to the coffee shop with his buddies, and was the #1 fan at his grandson’s soccer games. Dale was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone needing one. He is survived by his wife (of 59 years) Dolores Tweedie, his two sons¬Donald (Lynn) Tweedie of Walton, Dennis (Kathy) Tweedie of Painted Post, two grandsons, Cody and Shane Tweedie both of Walton, his brother Harold (Pam) Tweedie of Penhook VA, his sister Sandy (Bill) Kerr of Chase Mills, many nieces and nephews, and of course his fur-baby Daisy. He is predeceased by his father-Walter Tweedie, his mother-Alice Tweedie, and brothers Gary Tweedie and Glen Tweedie. Visitation hour will be 1pm-2pm Friday October 16, 2020 at WM. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St, Port Dickinson. A service to celebrate the life of Dale will be held at 2pm directly after visitation hour.
