Roland is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy; daughters Bonnie Karhukangas (Rob), Shannon Svingen-Jones (Eric) and son James Durand (Marcela); sister Claudette Durand; and grandchildren Sarah, Amy, Hope, Dane and Simon. Roland was a loving Husband, Father, Papa, Uncle and friend to many.
Roland was born in St. Boniface Manitoba on June 23, 1942 to Laure Marie Ange Hupé and Arthur Philias Durand, and was one of 6 siblings. He was a hard worker, valued family above all else, had a unique sense of humor, and loved to have a good time with his friends and family.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hardworking hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
He will be missed by many.
