I am so sorry for your loss. I remember so many of our church clean-up days when Roland was present. He was also so happy to join the men as they were working outside. I remember his smile and his sassy sense of humour. His mind was very quick, and his zingers were so good I had to laugh, even when they were directed at me!
I pray that God's presence fills the void left in your hearts by Roland's passing, and that you are comforted knowing that you will be able to be with him again one day.

Gone too soon and deeply missed. I have known Roland for over 6 years as a outstanding resident at Glenwood Terrace. He was my right hand man for the building and was truly the backbone to the Strata Council. I spoke to Roland regularly (as he often refused to use email .. haha)  but it made my connection with him much stronger. He was such a go- getter and so diligent with every contractor, work order and invoice. He would start every conversation with "Hey girl" and end every conversation with "talk to ya". We worked very well as a team on Council despite the 42 year age gap we were slowly starting to see things eye to eye. Roland could go from very serious and stern especially when it came to financials to warm and laughing. I always admired his quirky sense of humor, his dedication to Council and commitment to the building he called home. He spoke of fond memories of his cabin in Princeton and his family. He would spend hours reviewing invoices, cross checking documents and meeting with multiple contractors just to make sure the building was always in good hand. I will do my best to continue his legacy. Roland was a good man that will be truly missed. 

I have many good memories of Roland Durand. Specifically all the times he joined us for certain church events including some Youth Group events. One in particular being going camping up at Mount Cathedral near Keremeos(near Merritt), B.C.  Our Youth Group along with other members of Good Shepherd Lutheran went up many times to Mt. Cathedral and it is by far one of the most beautiful places on Planet Earth. Several majestic mountains and spectacular lakes including Lady Slipper Lake! We also had some great times up at Durandland at their Family Cabin located at Allison Lake near Princeton, B.C. We stayed there several times for our Church Men's Golf Tournaments both in Princeton and Merritt. Always good, enjoyable times in a beautiful, peaceful place! Roland will be great missed by both Family and Friends but his spirit, joy and presence still remain with us in our hearts and minds. God Bless and R.I.P. Mr. Roland Durand!

I am so glad that me and dad were able to take our trip to Winnipeg / kenora this past August. It had been along time since he had seen his sister and even longer for other family and friends. I got to see where my dad grew up. Take a picture of the street named Durand just outside Transcona. We visited the church my mom and dad were married in. I loved hearing all the stories from family and friends we visited during our trip. He kept saying this would be his last trip back east. I kept telling him we would be back next year. These 10 shirt days will forever be in my heart and am so thankful to have been able to travel with him.

We miss you so deeply. Thank you for all the sacrifice you did for us growing up to give us a better life. For a loving home and for always being there when we needed you.
