Bob passed away peacefully at RCH. Predeceased by parents Edna and Fred, and sister Mary. Survived by his loving wife Margaret, and brother-in-law Ed Lundeen.
Born in Richmond, Surrey, England, Bob went to Christ Hospital, a renowned boys boarding school at Horsham, at the age of 10. He then trained at the Camborne School of Mines and specialized in metallurgy and received his PhD. His vast knowledge took him to many different countries and in 1965 he immigrated to Canada to work at the Sullivan Mines. There he met Margaret and they married in 1973, celebrating their 50th anniversary last year. Life was interesting and fulfilling working on different properties; Elkford Granisle, and closing the mine at Stewart for a few, and meeting so many lovely people along the way. In his latter years, he went into private consulting when he moved to Coquitlam and once again, he was travelling to many different countries.
Margaret & Bob loved to travel together in his spare time, as well as fish, gold pan, and entertain. He loved his garden.
He will be missed so much.
Many thanks to all the staff at Foyer Maillard for their outstanding care, compassion, and support. It made such a difference.
