It is with deep sadness we share the passing of Edward (Ed). Surrounded by family, he has gone to join the love of his life Carol, who predeceased him 6 months prior. He leaves behind Brother Gerry (Ivy), Daughter Kimberly (Andrew), Sons, Dale, Gerry (Michelle) Grandchildren Camille (Andrew), Jessica, Lee, Heidi, Cole, Great Grandchildren, Madison, David and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, Ed decided after seeing the west coast, headed to Vancouver at the young age of 18 where he started work in Logistics. It is at PIX where he meet Carol and later married in 1959. Living in Coquitlam, Ed started with partners Westway Forwarding that continued to grow and expand through the years. After selling Westway, Ed continued in Logistics by working from home as a successful Freight Broker.
Ed was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping with family, fishing and hunting. He later moved his love of fishing to the sea after he acquired the Hunky Dory and spent many hours and memories with friends and family fishing and crabbing.
Ed was also known for his love of tools. He had a vast array of tools for every job. He loved to fix anything and everything. He was a master of repair and knowledge of small engines large or small and his ability to get a knife sharp was exceptional. He was a people person and enjoyed sharing a conversation over a glass of wine, a good beer, or a smooth whiskey.
He will be missed and live forever in the memories we keep.
A celebration will be held at his home in the later weeks of April.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.firstmemorialportcoquitlam.com for the Stebnicki family.
