Robert Bosserdet, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, in Port Charlotte, Florida, at the age of 81. Born on July 13, 1943, in Dearborn, Michigan, Robert's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and his country.
Robert's journey through life was shared with his beloved wife of 61 years, Nancy Bosserdet. Together, they raised a loving family, including daughters Kathryn Elizabeth, Wanda Lee, Stacey Lynn, Deidra Dawn, and their son, Robert William. Though he was preceded in death by his parents, William James Bosserdet and Betty Jane Bibb, Robert's legacy continues through his many grandchildren, who will remember him for his loving nature.
A proud veteran, Robert served in the United States Marine Corps for over eight years, receiving a Purple Heart and was honorably discharged for his service. His commitment to excellence was evident in all his endeavors.
After his military service, Robert found solace and joy in his hobbies. An avid woodcarver, he also relished the thrill of fishing and participated in numerous fishing tournaments across the Midwest. His love for travel brought him to many places, enriching his life with experiences and memories.
Though he often appeared tough on the outside, Robert's family knew his true nature: a loving man who held his loved ones close to his heart. His presence will be deeply missed, but the warmth of his love will continue to comfort those he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Port Charlotte Global Methodist Church rebuilding fund.
A graveside service will be taking place at Sarasota National Cemetery on Friday, September 6th, 2024 at 10AM.
