Of Englewood, FL, died peacefully at home on June 11, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy; three children, Deborah (Joseph) Reilly, James (Kim) Smith, and Margaret (Maxim) Person; adored grandchildren Katherine, Joseph and Patrick Reilly; Michael and Ryan Smith; James, Isabelle and Samantha Person; 4 step-grandchildren Alexandria and Joseph Chastain, Brittney and Jacob Levenglick; sisters Nancy Smith and Michelle (Steve) Heether; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jim was born in 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from St Catherine's Catholic High School. He attended Ripon College in Ripon, WI where he studied Mathematics. Upon graduation, he served in the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant. He enjoyed a rewarding career in IT, culminating with his retirement from the World Bank in 1996. He and Nancy split their time between Englewood, FL and their lake home in Mineral, VA. Jim loved celebrations of all sorts and performing in the Park Forest Chorus and Faith Lutheran Church choir. He enjoyed travel, home improvement projects, watching the Redskins, golf and puzzles. He was dearly loved and will be missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held in November.
