James (Jim) Edgar Kinder, 89 of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away surrounded by his family on January 21st, 2024. Jim was born on July 13, 1934 in Rush County, Indiana. Upon graduation from high school, Jim entered the US Army where he was honorably discharged. Jim then attended and graduated from Hanover College. It was at Hanover college that he met the life of his life, Nancy Manguse.
They were married on June 24, 1961 in Coldwater, Michigan and were happily married until his death.
In their early years of marriage, Jim’s career in the aerospace industry took them to Spain, Bermuda and various places in the US. They made a home in Maryland, Connecticut and Northern Vermont before retiring to Port Charlotte, Florida.
Jim enjoyed traveling with Nancy in an RV, fishing, skiing, fine wine and Texas hold em poker.
Jim is survived by his wife Nancy and his sons Michael (MaryEllen) and Christopher (Pam) as well as his grandchildren Michael, Alexandria, Nicholas and Marissa and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Schaefer.
Jim was predeceased by his brothers Harold, Russell, Dale and sisters Doris Lucas and Stella McNaughton.
In keeping with James' wishes, there will be a private memorial on a trout stream in Northern Vermont at a later date.
