

Patricia “Patsy” “Pat” Broussard Hebert, 76, of Port Acres passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family and dear friend Rhona Dore. Patricia was born January 9, 1936, in Port Arthur, to the late Samuel and Clemence Broussard. Patricia attended Catholic school and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School (St. Mary’s Group) in 1954 and later graduated from Port Arthur College. She married Curtis James Hebert in 1958 and they made their life together in Port Acres. Patricia was a secretary for Gulf Oil Refinery, worked in the cafeteria at Stephen F. Austin High School and Dowling Elementary, and was an insurance and billing specialist for Dr. Tsai. Patricia’s greatest work in life was raising her family. Patricia was an active member of Little Flower Catholic Church and was a dedicated member in the Altar Society and volunteered in any capacity she could. Patricia enjoyed being a homemaker, working in her yard, knitting, and running the roads to drink coffee with friends. Patricia was known as a very loving and giving person who liked to laugh. She will be greatly missed by many in her community.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Curtis, and brother, Curtis James Broussard.
Patricia is survived by her children, Paula LeBlanc and her husband Mark of Port Acres; Pamela DuBois and her husband Patrick of Lafayette, Louisiana; Curtis “Curt” Hebert, Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Steven LeBlanc, Heath LeBlanc, Trey LeBlanc, Jacques DuBois, Jonathan DuBois, Chloe Hebert and Curtis Hebert III, great grandchildren, Hannah LeBlanc, Emma LeBlanc and Patricia’s very special friend Johnal Bernard.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2012, at Little Flower Catholic Church, Port Acres, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Nederland.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Little Flower Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring and professional staff at River City Hospice, Intrepid Home Health and to her caregivers, Donna Tomplait, Candace Selman, Rachel Barryhill and the late Dorothy Peltier.
