Otila Martinez

Otila Martinez age 91 of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. Otila was born on March 7, 1923 in Lopeno, Texas to Felipe and Florinda Rosas Lopez. She was a 63 year resident of Port Arthur and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Maria Delaluz Martinez; and husband Gregorio Martinez, Jr. in 2010. She is survived by her sons, Jaime Martinez of Port Arthur, Juan D. and wife Adela Martinez of Beaumont; daughters, Maria Idolina Aldaiz and Dora Emma and husband Alfonso Martinez both of Port Arthur, Elisa Martinez of Deer Park, Delia (Dee) and husband Santos Picacio of Kempner; brother, Santiago and wife Ofilia Lopez of Laredo; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Harbor Hospice for the care and compassion that was given to our mother and family members.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Pallbearers include Michael Martinez, Miguel Magallon, Brandon Martinez, Steven Martinez, Edgar Ramirez and Ronnie Lee Guerra. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
