Norman was born on November 3, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas to Delores Maxine White Lytle and Floyd Peyton Lytle. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps after 30 years of service. He was stationed all across the country and overseas before he retired in 1988 and built his home in Sour Lake. He had various hobbies over those 30 years including wine making, bee keeping, shrimping, and growing and raising cactus at “the ranch" in west Texas. Norman loved his family and enjoyed his friends and traveling and will be sorely missed.
Survivors include his son, Norman G. Lytle II and his wife Felicia Lynn Brinkley of Wildwood, Texas and his daughter Norma G. Mull and her husband Don Mull of Sour Lake, Texas; grandchildren Amanda Mull of Sour Lake, Texas; Matthew Mull and his wife Sheena Mull of Lumberton, Texas; Sherrie Seymour and her husband Bennett Seymour of Sour Lake, Texas; and Kellie Miller and her husband Edward Miller of Sour Lake, Texas; great grandchildren, Kali Seymour, Chandler Seymour, Zadi Seymour, Chloe Miller, Jacob Paxton, and Mila Mull. Bonus grandchildren, Heavan Brinkley of Longview Texas, Brandon Brinkley and his wife Karelly Brinkley of Tyler, Texas; Brianna Brinkley of Wildwood, Texas and Jerry Don Brinkley of Wildwood, Texas. Bonus great grandchildren, Skylar Brinkley, Carter Brinkley, Kinley Brinkley, and Julian Brinkley. Norman was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Gay Florence Lytle who passed away in 2011; his daughter-in-law Elizabeth M. Lytle who passed in 2018; his parents and his 5 siblings.
A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at a Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Chapel service to honor Mr. Lytle to be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Matthew Mull, Edward Miller, Lance Todd, Truman Friday, Doug Broussard, and Russell Ginanni.
