Fernando was born on August 20, 1956, in Rio Grande, Mexico to Maria Ayala Castaneda and Anselmo Castaneda. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur and was a retired painter. Fernando had lived in Port Arthur for twenty-seven years and was a devout Catholic and loved his church, his friends and especially his family who he did everything for, they were his love, and they were his joy!!
Survivors include his wife, Fidelia Salazar Castaneda of Port Arthur; children, Orlando Castaneda, Mari Martinez, Clara Campos, Delma Banda, Esmeralda Hernandez and Daniela Corona all of Port Arthur; siblings, Rosendo Castaneda and Arturo Castaneda both of Mexico, Anselmo Castaneda of Port Arthur, Rosa Castaneda and Olga Castaneda both of Mexico; nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
