Audrey Bonin, 84, of Port Acres, passed away on October 20, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas on June 12, 1928 to the late Aler and Eve Comeaux Loncon. She met and married the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Bonin in June of 1946. They made their first home in Groves, Texas before settling down in Port Acres to raise their family.
She was a loving wife, homemaker and a wonderful mother, aunt and friend to many. She will be greatly missed. We’ll miss the Friday morning breakfast and the Wednesday lunch outings.
She was a member of St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres and was active in the Altar Society.
Audrey is preceded in death by her husband Anthony, parents; Aler and Eve Loncon, brothers; Adrian Loncon and Ray Loncon; sisters, Hazel Duett, Amy Theriot, and Allie Belle Hebert.
Audrey is survived by her children; sons, Wayne Bonin and his wife Jamie of Pineland, Texas; Robert Bonin and his wife Stephanie of Groves; Leslie Paul Bonin and his wife Cindy of Port Acres; daughter, Toni Tomplait and her husband James Jr., of Port Acres; 12 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00p.m., under the direction of Deacon Glen Hebert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10a.m. at St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres with Rev. Anthony Paulose, C.M.I., officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Bonin, Jason Bonin, Ryan Bonin, Justin Bonin, Jacob Bonin and Daniel Tompkins.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Harbor Hospice nurses and staff for their care and kindness.
