Predeceased by parents, John and Marion McCrae and brother Douglas. Bob is survived by children, Aimee (Jim), Melody, Andrea (Rod); grandchildren, Byron, Ryan, Jared; sisters, Elinor, Elaine, and Anne; his special friend, Sydney as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves behind his extended family, Debbie, Karen and David.
Bob worked in many roles in BC Hydro for over 26 years. One of his first jobs was working on the WAC Bennet Dam when the project first started. He preferred the ‘outside’ jobs most of all because that was where he felt the most comfortable. As well, when he was doing the ‘outside’ work, he could scout out fishing and swimming holes for his children where he would take them during the weekends or when he had days off. Although he enjoyed fishing early on and had the dream of owning a boat one day, his main passion was bowling. His patience and love of children eventually found him spending a great deal of time volunteering over the years with the Special Olympics bowling program.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2011 from 2pm to 4:30pm at the Rainbow Room, 3752 - 4th Ave. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Association, 1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC., V6H 3V2.
