Kingsley loved life. He enjoyed being with family and a world-wide network of friends,. He was the mentor of countless high school, college and seminary students. He was proud of his children's accomplishments and made it his mission to facilitate their education and professional growth. He took personal interest in all aspects of his nephews and nieces lives.
Kingsley was foremost a great preacher, lively story-teller, enthusiastic singer and choir director, nature lover, gardener, painter, stamp and elephant collector. He loved to take friends and students on camping, hiking and adventure trips. Having been a Boy Scout in Sri Lanka, he later became a Pathfinder and Master Guide leader. He was an active member of the Rotary Club in Pakistan, and the Lions Club in Chatham, Ontario.
Interest in health education continued throughout his life and ministry. He conducted Five Day Plans to Stop Smoking and HIV AIDS Awareness programmes in High Schools funded by Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in conjunction with Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). He held sports meets, temperance contests, speech and poster contests, social programmes and parties.
Most importantly, Kingsley loved giving Bible studies, sharing the gospel with anyone he came in touch with, and brought many souls to knowledge of Christ's saving power.
Peter; Pastor Kingsley Cecil James passed away at his home surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 70 years of age.
His positive attitude towards life, his super sense of humour, and his zeal for travel along with his strong faith in God have given his family much to celebrate. His mission in life was to spread the gospel of our soon-coming Saviour. After a lengthy illness, he was happy to be at home again with his family. His indomitable spirit and eloquent prayers strengthened all of us until his final goodbye. We look forward to meeting Dad on that resurrection day.
