He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Venus Forsyth, his son Jeff, brother Bruce and father-in-law Joe Mallon.
Jim is survived by his wife Sandra, son Adam, daughter Chris, grandchildren Brooke and Ashlyn, mother-in-law Elsie Mallon and sister Paige as well as extended family.
Jim was born in Port Alberni to the late Roy and Venus Forsyth. He attended Alberni Elementary, AW Neill and ADSS. Jim went to work for the City of Port Alberni and retired from there in 2008. Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren and the outdoors. He was an avid gold panner, liked to hike and built Sandra rustic trellises for her garden. Travel was also a love of his. Both he and Sandra loved to travel to Mexico.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be on Saturday September 23rd at the First Baptist Church on Cherry Creek Road at 3pm.
