Don was born in Port Alberni and spent his whole life in this valley he loved. Don was deeply loved by his family; his wife Carol (58 years), his beloved daughters, Taryn and Tracy (Stevyn); and his cherished grandchildren, Brennan and Connor, Aidan and India. He enjoyed years of fun with his extended family Mo and Larry, Terri, Fran and Richard and his besties Cheryl and John.
Don was blessed to be a member of the amazing Church family of Cedar Grove Reformed pastored by Per and Chris Knudsen. Through the time of Don's illness they upheld us in prayer and surrounded us with love and support.
Don's #1 bucket list wish was realized when our great neighbour Chris Duncan flew him over the valley and Della Falls as his 80th birthday surprise.
Very special thanks to Dr. Kitschoff for his house visits and loving care and for Larry at the Medicine Shoppe.
A private graveside service has been held and a celebration of life for Don will take place in November. Don had a deep love for nature and was an avid fan of "Hope for Wildlife'. If you wish to honour Don's life, a gift to this charity (hopeforwildlife.net) would have touched his heart.
