Carol was born to Lars & Winnifred Akre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on July 9, 1949, and is survived by her husband, Jack Klock, her three sons, two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.
Carol also lived in central Alberta for several years, where she found a career as a dispatcher for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Fort Saskatchewan. After several years in Alberta, Carol answered the ocean’s call and moved to Port Alberni in 1990, where she lived and continued her career at the Port Alberni Detachment. Carol took great pride in her work and was an enthusiastic supporter of her colleagues and RCMP Members, whom she considered her second family.
Carol never wanted to be in the spotlight, so in true Carol fashion, she requested that there be no memorial service. Please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society if you would like to honour her life.
For everyone in the healthcare industry, please accept a heartfelt thank you from Carol and her family. She never wanted to ask for help, but you always knew when to give it and never let her down. We are all in awe of your selflessness and dedication.
Carol will be making a stop at the rainbow bridge to pick up her dog Molly on her way to see her family, Betty White and Freddie Mercury.
