Deborah Mitchell, age 65, received her Robe of White and a Crown of Gold on Friday, July 5, 2024 after a battle with Small Cell Lung Cancer. She loved life and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and traveling. She retired after 18 years as a Certified Medical Assistant working primarily in family practice clinics and became a homemaker. Debi was of the Baptist faith. She is a 1977 graduate from Pearl River Central High School and later earned an Associates of Science Degree in Medical Assisting from Phillips Junior College in 1992.
Debi was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; father, Edward Wormser; brothers, Kenneth Wormser, Paul Wormser, and William Wormser; and a grandson, Wyatt Picard. She is survived by her husband, Ernest “Ernie” Mitchell; sons, Patrick (Jessica), and George (Jamye); a daughter, Patricia; her mother, Ruby Wormser; a brother, Phillip (Rose); sisters, Kathy Rome, and Becky King; eight grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2024 at White Funeral Home in Poplarville, MS.
Her family will honor her wishes to be cremated and spread at home with her grandson.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to a charity of choice.
