Wilburn Terry “W. T.” Walls, age 90, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at his residence. He was a member and Deacon at Algoma Baptist Church, the Ayrshire Breaders Association and the American Legion. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, and had worked at Ford Motor Company in Memphis before moving back to Pontotoc, MS to open a Grade A Dairy and promoted Registered Ayrshire Dairy Cattle for 28 years. He enjoyed working with children in the 4H Clubs with cattle.
Services will be at 1 PM Friday, April 29, 2011 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc, with Minister Murray Galloway officiating; burial will follow in the Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Jean Grisham Walls of Houlka; his two daughters: Patti Williams (Mitch) Houlka and Jacque Moore (Eddie) Millport, AL; his son: Michael Walls of Memphis, TN; his three sisters: Modess Person, Viola Nicholson (Joe) and Sarah York all of Memphis, TN; three brothers: John Walls (Bettye), Garland Walls (Maria) and Donald Walls (Ruby) all of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren: Trey Aron, Jean Ann Austin, Marcus Williams and April Henderson; and four great grandchildren: Dabria Mendoza, Madisen Williams, Abby Williams and Braylee Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry Jefferson Walls and Mary Calcedona Garling Walls; three sisters: Alma Butler, Vance Roye and Odell Wood; three brothers: Thedford Walls, Howard Walls and Clifton Walls and his son: Terry Douglas “Doug” Walls.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday and from 11 to 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.
