Elliott Henry Thompson, 96, went to be with our lord on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Pontotoc Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1917. She resided in the home built by her great-grandfather, Thomas Hickman Williams, and received her Bachelor’s degree from Blue Mountain College.
She served as school librarian, elementary school teacher, and later as librarian for Pontotoc County and Dixie Regional Library systems until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of Toxish Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Lillian Williams Thompson; five sisters, Nell Thompson Everett, Ruth Thompson, Cornelia Thompson, Lola Thompson, and Cooper Thompson; one brother, Willard Holt Thompson; and one nephew, Don Thompson.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, her church family, and a host of friends.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorials may be made to the Toxish Baptist Church, 1841 Toxish Rd, Pontotoc, MS 38863.
