Terry is predeceased by her loving parents William and Michelina who we are sure greeted her with open arms as she arrived to her eternal home. Terry was a beloved and devoted wife of Joseph for over 69 years and loving mother to her children Bob and Michele.
Terry was born in Buffalo, New York and had an amazing childhood. She got her sense of humor from her father and her strength from her mother. She would tell stories of riding in the rumble seat having a ball just riding around town with her parents in my grandfather's old Ford. She and my grandmother would go to the show once a month when it was a nickel to get in -yes it was actually that price at one time. She looked forward to that Saturday every month.
She met her husband Joseph at Crystal Lake in Ontario Canada on a weekend girl's trip. The story of how they met was my Dad asked her to dance and she said no. She ended up giving him my Aunt Harriett's phone number and the rest, as they say is history. They were married on May 8, 1954, and had their son Bob on October 3 the following year. Their daughter Michele would come along 12 years later on June 5th.
Terry was a part time bookkeeper for a doctor's office in Buffalo NY as she considered her primary job taking care of her family. She always made sure she was home when her children came home from school and dinner was ready when her husband came home from work.
In 1974 we moved to Lauderdale by the Sea FL where she became a business owner after purchasing apartment buildings and managing them for over 15 years. She was a proud member of the Veritas Italian American club and was president of the women's board for 3 years.
There are so many memories we can all share. My Mom took me to see my first movie in a theatre and taught Bob as best she could how to cook. We went on many vacations- my Mom got to visit Brazil and went to Italy 3 times. Bob took her on cruises to Hawaii and Alaska making the best memories for and of her. She always talked about the salmon and helicopter ride over the glaciers in Alaska and the helicopter ride in Hawaii. She always wanted to go back. Only 2 times she was ever in helicopters and loved every minute of it.
She loved her family and put everyone she loved above all else. She had taken care of her father, mother and husband for many years and never once thought to do anything else. She loved her children and their friends, basically took most under her wing and became a mom to them as well. My Mom had an unlimited amount of love and guidance to share. She had a great sense of humor, could take a joke and had one of the best laughs I have ever heard.
Theresa M Menno was born on July 8, 1932 and passed away on June 27 2023. Beloved wife to Joseph, loving mother to Bob and Michele. Theresa was 90 years, almost 91 when she peacefully fell asleep with her loved ones. Our family did not believe that saying she was a wife
and mother did her justice as she was so much more than that. We could talk about her for hours and I do not believe you would still understand how much she meant to us. You will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved you. I know you were greeted by God's welcoming arms and that Grandpa and Nan were there waiting for you. We know you are in peace now. Take your much deserved rest and know we love and miss you. Until we meet again.
