Michael V. Colandro, age 62, Died August 9, 2015. He is survived by his mother Shirley Weber, stepfather Paul Weber, and brother Albert Colandro, all of Pompano Beach, and a sister Maryann Colandro, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Mike was a professional golfer who had won more than 50 professional tournaments world wide. He played on the PGA Tour, Canada, European PGA, Asian and Australian PGA tours. He had his most success and longest tenure (16 years) on the Australian PGA tour.
When his competitive playing days ended around 2000, he continued to play in local tournaments, coaching and teaching. His deteriorating health led to becoming blind, needing dialysis three times a week and neuropathy in his feet. In spite of that he maintained a strong love of and interest in the game of Golf.
A memorial mass will be said at St. Henry Catholic Church in Pompano Beach on August 22. Donations can be made in Mike’s name to the American Diabetes Assoc.
