Leo Schargorodski, 94, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Willow Bay Senior Resort, Deerfield Beach, Florida. He was pre-deceased in death by his wife Maria in 2008 and leaves his three children, Leo and his wife Joyce; Victor and his wife Suzanne; and Irene and her husband Joseph; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed. Born in Donetsk, Ukraine on May 20, 1923 he had rich and rewarding life. Captured by the German army, he was sent to Augsburg, Germany to work. After the war, he met and married the love of his life, Maria in 1946. After the birth of his first son, Leo in 1948, he and the family were able to relocate to the United States in 1951. After a brief stay in Chicago, IL, the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Son Victor and daughter Irene were born there completing the immediate family Mr. Schargorodski was an entrepreneur and dedicated business man. Owning and operating gasoline service stations in Cleveland, Ohio for 19 years, he took pride in his business, but truly relished the friends he made. Moving to Florida in 1972, he continued in business by owning and operating the Ocean Stream Apartments in Ft. Lauderdale for many years. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 28 at 12:30 in the new chapel of Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 1500 State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068. Arrangements were made by: Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 200 N. Federal Hwy., Pompano Beach, FL 33062. In Lieu of flowers send donations to the American Cancer Society.
