He passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2023 at home in Pompano Beach Florida of natural causes surrounded by his family at age 84.
He is survived by his life partner, Mary Louise Eldredge, of Minnesota: his children; Pierre Mifsud (Marie-Claude Mifsud), Veronique Verret (Erick Verret); his grandchildren; Sebastien Mifsud, Julien Verret, Sabrina Mifsud, Tristan Verret and Cedric Mifsud; and his only sibling, sister Suzette Clement.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years Gisele de Reynal de Saint Michel of Martinique; his father Pierre Mifsud of Tunisia and his mother Therese Cholette of Canada.
He was born on April 17th, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, a fact he kept to himself. He graduated from Freeport High School in 1955 and went on to serve 7 years in the Air National Guard.
He moved to Martinique in 1962 and fell in love with the island life and its people. He started his lifelong career in construction as a general contractor and began building pools and homes.
In 1978 he relocated the family to Florida in search of a better education for his children and bought his forever home in Pompano Beach. His business transitioned from Broward Construction to Florida Foundation Systems where he found great success.
He loved traveling and spending time outdoors and some of his best times were aboard his boat the “Joe Sea Whales”.
His 84 years were lived to the fullest with his loving family, fantastic friends, great times and fabulous adventures all over the world.
He had an awesome life and was fortunate enough to not just have one love but two. His giving nature touched the hearts of all that knew him.
He was a gracious and generous host, and he was loved by everyone. He will be remembered as a great guy who was always humble, calm, “cool” and collected.
He will be greatly missed but never forgotten!
