GREGORY J. THOMPSON, (Gregg), age 62 of Pompano Beach, Florida died February 12, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with a devastating illness. He was a talented and dedicated psychotherapist with offices in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale who was deeply committed to the well being of the countless individuals and families who he helped over the course of his 30 year career. In his younger days, Gregg enjoyed a short career as a professional boxer and remained an avid boxing and martial arts enthusiast. He also cherished his American muscle cars. But above all, Gregg loved and was totally committed to his family and friends. A generous and charitable human being, he was adored by them in return and will be sorely missed. He taught us all the true meaning of love, honor, courage, family and forgiveness, cherished gifts that will never be forgotten. Gregg is survived by his partner of many years, Amanda Green of Pompano Beach,his step-son Aaron Teitelbaum of New York City, his former partner and dear friend Marie Thompson of Brielle, New Jersey, his "cousin but more like a sister" Diane Fulgoni of Astoria Queens, New York, his nieces and god daughters Danielle and Nicole Fulgoni of Astoria Queens, New York and his beloved pets, John the collie, Samantha the border collie and Jerry the "cat who thinks he is a dog". A private ceremony with family and friends will be held in New York at a time and place to be announced shortly.
