Cunnane (nee Kelly), Dorothy Jean, 80, of Pompano Beach passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20th, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bronx, New York on July 19, 1938, she was the youngest of eight children. Dorothy had a wonderful childhood growing up in a big Irish family with her parents, John and Mary Kelly. Her favorite hobby growing up was ice skating at Rockefeller Center every Saturday. After graduating from Aquinas H.S., she married Marty in 1961, was blessed with six children and lived in Bronxville and Yonkers, New York. They moved to Pompano Beach in 1980 and Dorothy worked as a registrar at Ramblewood Middle School in Coral Springs, FL. She was a devout Catholic, always putting family and faith first in her life. She was a long time parishioner of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Pompano Beach. She enjoyed retirement by the beach, traveling with husband Marty, and loved her visits with children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Marty, her six children: Marty Cunnane Jr., Jean (Nicholas) Vaccaro, Christopher Cunnane, Anne (John) Tuosto, Eileen (Kevin) Woodworth, Joseph (Joan) Cunnane, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She is pre–deceased by her siblings: Elizabeth Pasquarelli, Jack Kelly, Robert Kelly, Ray Kelly, Edward Kelly, Mae Keopfler, and Joan Quinn.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm followed by Prayer Service at 6:00 pm Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 W. Copans Rd, Pompano Beach 33064
Funeral and Burial: Dates to be announced: Viewing at McGrath and Son’s Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY. Funeral Mass: St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 15 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
