Clyde Ward, 83, of Lighthouse Point, Florida, and Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Delray Medical Center, in Delray, Florida. He passed peacefully after a short illness surrounded by family. Clyde was a kind, compassionate, and humble man born on February 7, 1932, in Tomahawk, Kentucky. In 1952, Clyde moved to Auburn, New York where he resided until 1973, when he and his family moved to South Florida. Clyde maintained numerous business ventures and residences in Florida and East Tennessee until his passing.
Clyde was the most beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend who left a warm and lasting impression on everyone he met. Clyde is survived by his wife and soul mate of 62 years, Joyce (Mungo Watson) Ward also Lighthouse Point and Jefferson City; his daughter Michele Mortin (husband John) of Knoxville, TN; and his son Marc Ward (wife Becky Mulvaney). Clyde’s other surviving family are grandchildren Michael Seaman (wife Hope), Andrea Seaman, Kara Seaman, and Tiffany Holcomb; great-grandchildren Logan Curry and Lily Seaman; brother James Ward; and cousin Cecil Conley (wife Naomi) also survive him.
Clyde proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from 1952 until 1960 and was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America until he passed. He was also a member of the Lions Club and attended All Saints Catholic Church.
The family would like to receive friends from 4-6pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Kraeer Funeral Home, 1199 East Sample Road, Pompano Beach, FL, followed by a memorial service and celebration of Clyde’s life.
