Angie was born in Buffalo, NY, on November 11, 1935 to immigrant Italian parents originating from Sicily. She was the youngest of four loving sisters, who as adolescents, all worked in the small, neighborhood grocery market owned by their parents. Following graduation from Nardin Academy in Buffalo, she met and subsequently married Charles Leone. Angie gave birth to five children: John, Edward, Gregory, Ann (died and taken to heaven at time of birth), and Susan.
Angie was known for her unrelenting kindness and calm nature. She was an exquisite cook of a variety of Italian dishes and pastries, providing decades of innumerable, enjoyable meals for family and friends alike.
Angie and her family followed her husband’s work related transfers to New Jersey outside of Philadelphia and then to Tamarac, Florida in the early 1970s, then to Buffalo Grove outside of Chicago in the late 1980s, and finally retiring back to Florida over 20 years ago to be closer to her children.
Angeline is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents Edward and Josephine Matteliano; her oldest sister Lilian and her husband Carl Pino, her sister Mary and her husband Ignatius Scaduto and beloved son-in-law Douglas Apfelberg. She is survived by her saintly sister Jen; son John and his beautiful fiancé Amy Lewis; son Edward; son Gregory and his lovely wife Jacqueline, and precious daughter, Susan Apfelberg; grandsons Kameron Leone, Chase Leone, and Riese Apfelberg; and beautiful granddaughters Hayley Leone, Shania Leone, Kalen Leone, and Kiana Leone. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
