(née McMenamin)
On February 1, 2014, our dear mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 78. Sheilah was the dearly beloved mother of Colleen (Rick Filion), Patrick and Terry, and cherished grandmother of Sean Filion. She was the dearly beloved wife of Murray O'Shaughnessy who predeceased her in 1986. Sheilah was the cherished sister of Angie, Brian and the late D'Arcy McMenamin, the dearly beloved daughter of the late Mildred (Furlong) and Patrick McMenamin, and a great friend to many. Sheilah worked for the Montreal Canadiens' Hockey Club during the 1950s, amongst other companies, that benefitted from her exceptional organizational skills and abilities. She was an avid gardener, a great cook and baker, and loved to travel. Sheilah also loved sports, in particular football for which she had great acumen and appreciation. The highlight of her weeks was faithfully attending her grandson's hockey and football games. Mum also enjoyed tea on the deck, hot chocolate in the afternoon and chocolate in general anytime. On Wednesday, February 5, a visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and then 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White, 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe Claire. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 6, at 11 a.m. at St. John Fisher Church, 120 Summerhill Ave., Pointe Claire. We would like to extend our grateful thanks to the staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital, and donations can be made to the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation, 514-630-2081. Rest in peace dear Mum and Grandma; you will always be in our hearts.
