She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ron Gillies, their three beautiful children, Robert (Maeve), Mark (Elyse), and Amy (Josh), and her first grandchild, due in July. She was the cherished sister of Rose-Marie, Liliane, Guy (Janice), Ted (Colleen), and Bunny (Scott). She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Kay Hebert, father Georges Gauthier, and brothers Roger and Gerry who all held a special place in her heart.
Louise was a proud mother, a devoted wife, and a gift to all those who knew her. Always easy going, Louise made friends effortlessly with her warm smile, welcoming presence, and sharp sense of humor. She loved to host friends and family and was always the first to offer her home for gatherings. She is remembered fondly by coworkers and friends at Metro as an honest and kind colleague. Outside of spending time with her loved ones, she enjoyed participating in team sports like badminton, volleyball and softball. She also loved to be outdoors and made many lasting memories going camping with her family and friends at Voyageur provincial park, and family vacations to her mother’s cottage in Rexton, New Brunswick. As if all of this didn’t keep her busy enough, she also never passed up an opportunity to book a cruise with Ron or her sisters.
Louise, Mom, (soon-to-be) Grandma, we love you so much and we will miss you forever. We are keeping you in our hearts and know that you will be with us every step of the way as we navigate this new chapter of our lives.
A service will be held at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home (222 Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, QC, H9S 3X6) on Friday May 5th, 2023 to celebrate her beautiful life and honour her memory. Visitation will be from 4pm-5pm, followed by a service from 5:00pm-6:30pm, and reception with food and drinks thereafter.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.
The family would like to thank the outstanding support they received from the residence staff - your thoughtfulness and respect in her final days is appreciated more than words can say.
