Mrs. Irene Saunders, a long-time resident of Pointe Claire, passed away at the Lakeshore General Hospital on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Richard (Dick) Saunders, and loving mother of Lee Morrison (Ken) and Stephen Saunders (Janet). For many years Irene enjoyed painting with the Lakeshore Artists honing her artistic abilities and participating in the UCW group and other events at St. John’s United Church. For the last few years she lived at the Kirkland Manor where she enjoyed many activities, the friendship of other residents, and in the company of the very caring and helpful staff. A celebration of Irene’s life will be held on Saturday April 1 at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222, Autoroute 20. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with service and reception to follow. If so desired, contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
