Growing up on a dairy farm in southern Illinois, Shirley was one of six children born to Goble and Juanita (Winters) Dutton. Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Donald M.Price in 1955. They raised a family and built their life together in Grayville, IL until his unexpected death in 1989.
After her husband's passing, Shirley took early retirement to Plant City, Florida where she became very active in her community and church. She also volunteered with the ladies auxiliary at the South Florida Baptist Hospital for many years. Shirley continued to stay active with walking and biking, and as a member of card and book clubs. Many of her neighbors and friends will remember evening gatherings on her carport for special fellowship.
Along with her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by, a son, Doug; sister, Violet (Dutton) Dallas; brothers Willie “Bill” Dutton and James “Jim” Dutton.
Shirley is survived by sons, Bradley Kent Price (Roger) of Tampa, Florida, Jeffery Scott Price of New Albany, IN and Christopher Neal Price (Benny) of Yankeetown, IN; sister, Marjorie Aline (Dutton) Oglesby of Vincennes, IN; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Lynn Dutton of Hagerstown, MD; her dear brother-in-law W.C. Dallas of Mt. Carmel, IL; sister-in-law Rita Dutton of Marion, IL, and many nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors and church family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 5th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakes at Countrywood Clubhouse, Sam Allen Rd, Plant City, Florida. A second Celebration and burial will occur in Illinois
later this summer.
