Sara Elizabeth Yarbrough Henry, 88, went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2018 at Avow Hospice following an extended illness. She was born August 3, 1929 in Tyty, GA to Joe Yarbrough and Emily Wood Yarbrough. As a teenager she worked in Ft. Myers at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, then at Prathers Laundry & Dry Cleaning, where she met her husband to be, James Bert Henry Jr.; they married in 1948.
They moved to Naples in 1964. Following Bert's death in 2005 she moved to Avon Park, FL.
She was a member of Parkway Free Will Baptist Church in Sebring, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Bert; 2 sisters, Wilma Woodson and Linda Jackson; one brother, Alvin Yarbrough; a son, James Henry III; and daughter, Diane (Sam) Gill.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Butch) Sadler and Emily (Steve) Nickel, both of Naples; two sons, Donald (Marcy) Henry of Sebring and Joseph (Lynn) Henry of Orlando; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five sisters, Joy Wells, Lossie Rooney, Martha Hall, Faye (Bobby) Floyd, and Marie (Jimmy) Joiner; two brothers, Joe (Betty) Yarbrough and Jimmie (Peggy) Yarbrough; and a large extended family.
The family will receive friends at the Wells Memorial and Event Center, 1903 West Reynolds Street, Plant City, FL 33563, on Saturday, January 13th at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Plant City.
