Funeral services for Nina Dukes affectionally known as “Grannie”, Aunt Nina, and Mrs. Nina to family and friends and “Biscuitmaker” by the Georgia Hunting Club will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Dover sanctuary 3223 Gallagher Rd., Dover, Fl 33527.
Nina passed away peacefully at Solaris Health Care of Plant City, under Life Path Hospice Care Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the age of 95.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Roland R Dukes, parents Henry & Othilla Harrison & sister, Hilda Bianchi.
She is survived by her daughter, Freda Schofield and husband, Chuck. Sister, Dora (Dodie) Lewandowski, Grandsons Chuck and wife Stacy, Sean and wife Heather and three great grandchildren Chad, Colton and Emily.
Nina spent every morning reading from her Bible and praying for others. She has been an active member of First Baptist Church Dover where she dedicated her life to teaching Sunday School and Training Union, working with children to memorize the books of the Bible and a prayer partner to many.
Nina spent her evenings tuned into the Rays, her favorite baseball team, while all wrapped in her favorite throw with her favorite colors of purple, lavender, rose and pink.
Officiating will be Dr. T.J. Francis, Pastor Kevin Parker and Pastor Andrew Pouncey.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 and a service will begin at 11:00.
The family would like to express thanks for the care given by Solaris of Plant City and Life Path Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Nina Dukes asks that donations be given to First Baptist Church Dover Children’s Ministry for the purchase of Bibles and scripture memory medals.
