Michael T. Cipolla, 84, of Plant City Florida, and previously of Endicott, New York, passed away on August 2nd, 2023. He was born on October 11, 1938, to Mary (Wisniewski) Cipolla. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His charm, humor, and wit will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Michael was known for his loyalty and work ethic. He held several positions during his thirty years at IBM and made a significant impact in his field.
Proud of his Naval service, he enjoyed reminiscing with his shipmates. He served as president of the U.S.S. Samuel B. Roberts Shipmates Association for several years and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors. Mike also enjoyed playing golf and marshaled the B.C. Open PGA tournament. After retiring to Florida, he managed the Countrywood Pro shop and valued friendships within the community.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Preen), his three loving children (one of which is adopted, but which one?) Michael (Dana) Cipolla of Largo, Florida, Rebecca (Bryan) Riegal of Horseheads, New York, and Geoffrey (Peter Hassler) Cipolla of Garwood, New Jersey, his grandchildren Michael D. Cipolla, Christen (James) Grayson, Jason (Danielle) Riegal, and Caitlyn (Ryan Force) Riegal. He also had ten great-grandchildren, a sister Sharon (Cipolla) Hoerle of Perry, New York, and an extended family he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his mother Mary Cipolla and brother Roy Cipolla, both of Perry, New York.
Viewing hours will be on Friday, August 11th from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at Wells Memorial Funeral Home in Plant City, Florida followed by a burial ceremony with full military honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 1:30 pm.
The family asks for donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
