Vicki Marie Lake was born to Joyce and Charles Lake on September 2, 1956, in Beaumont, Texas. She lived most of her life in the Dallas area. Vicki went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 6, 2018, after a courageous 10 month battle with lung cancer. Vicki was surrounded by her beloved family members sharing a prayer and scriptures as she took her last breath.
Vicki had an exceptional talent with music where she wrote over 100 songs and played 7 instruments which included the alto and tenor saxophone, various percussion instruments, and her favorite being the piano. She graduated from Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas, where she was voted band sweetheart by her fellow band students her senior year. Vicki followed her high school graduation and love of music by attending Stephen F. Austin studying music.
Vicki enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, and playing softball where she played “rover” for many years on several very successful teams including being the MVP on a First Baptist Church State Championship team. Vicki also enjoyed hiking and fishing, especially in Colorado where she spent many summers with her parents and her niece Elizabeth.
Before retiring, Vicki worked at Sedco and JC Penney Corporate.
Vicki’s greatest joy and passion was being involved with the Media Team at Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall, Texas. She worked in the children’s area and the children loved her as she was very helpful, kind, and patient.
Vicki was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend loved dearly by all her family and close friends. She is survived by her parents, brother Mark and wife Darlene Lake, sister Paula Lake Merriman and husband Bob Merriman, brother Paul, favorite Aunt Sug Harris, nieces and nephews Elizabeth Lake, Krystal Lake Prasifka (Jonny), Michael Lake, Caitlin Lake, Cara Lake, Cameron Lake, Bobby Merriman (Francesca), and Hunter Merriman, cousins Terry, Deb, Cathy, Nancy Pat, David, Bennie, and Linda, and her best friend Mrs. Sharron Baer.
