Sheri Lynne Criswell, age 74 passed away on December 31, 2020 with her loved ones by her side. Sheri was born on December 18, 1946 in Winters, Texas to Betty Jo Mathis Hargrove and L.O. “Totsy” Hargrove.
Sheri graduated from Ballinger High School in 1965. She attended business college in Austin, Texas and later attended University Texas of Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas where she received her Bachelor of Arts and became a certified teacher.
On February 14, 1969 Sheri married the love of her life, Robert Criswell in Gainesville, Texas. She was a dedicated wife, mother and the absolute best Mimi to her 8 grandchildren.
Sheri had a love and a passion for teaching and committed herself to loving her students and fellow teachers throughout her career. Sheri began her teaching career in Rankin, Texas as the librarian in the middle school. She also taught in Westbrook, Texas and Jonesboro, Texas where she made wonderful friendships and memories during her tenure. Sheri went on to teach in Paradise, Texas where she retired with her husband. She built memorable friendships along the journey in Paradise and maintained those relationships as she enjoyed retirement.
Sheri was a founding member of Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise, Texas where she and her husband were in leadership and served God through ministering to others. As a couple, Sheri and her husband Robert, were involved in a small group from Grace Fellowship that became very dear to them throughout the years. She loved the Lord and loved telling others about the love of Christ. She was known for her gentle spirit that quietly guided others to know Jesus. Sheri was a fervent prayer warrior, always interceding for her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Sheri is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Criswell; son Lance Criswell and wife Dana of Ozona, Texas; daughter Gena Glasco and husband Tony of Corinth, Texas; son Buddy Criswell and wife Katie of Logansport, Louisiana; grandchildren Ethan and Chance Criswell; Corbin, Kambel, Kindal and Cooper Glasco; and Anna and Makayla Criswell; sister Mary Susan Hargrove of Callisburg, Texas; sister-in-law Donna Criswell of Plano, Texas; sister-in-law Sandra Williams and brother-in-law David Williams of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law Cissy Shillingburg and brother-in-law Mike Shillingburg of Stephenville, Texas and many very special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sheri was preceded in death by her father L.O. Hargrove; mother Betty Hargrove; brother Bill Hargrove and brother-in-law Corky Criswell.
A memorial service for Sheri will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church 2964 TX-114, Paradise, TX 76073.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sheri’s honor to Grace Fellowship Church in Paradise, TX.
