Buck - or Bobby, as some knew him - was born February 14, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in Hughes, Arkansas where he played all sports with football being his favorite.
He earned his BBA in Industrial Management from Arkansas A&M (now University of Arkansas at Monticello) in 1966, where he fell in love with Glenda Anne Reaves whom he married March 24, 1967. He also earned his MBA from Amberton University (then an extension of Abilene Christian University).
Buck spent most of his professional career in marketing & management positions at Texas Instruments and at Digital Switch Corporation. Later in life, he even served as Executive Director at Mustang Creek Estates assisted living, where he spent his final months as a resident ironically.
Buck left a positive impression on people and was life and light to those around him. He was always good for a prank, enjoyed laughing and being laughed at. Buck loved God, time with family and friends, watching sports - his Razorbacks and all Dallas teams - and playing golf. He and Anne were devoted members of The Heights Church since 1967, where he served as a deacon for many years.
Buck is survived by his wife Anne Downs; son Will Downs, daughter-in-law Lori, granddaughters Olivia and Grace; son Lee Downs; nephew Jimmy Russell; niece Jennifer and husband Jim Joyce and their children Taylor, Jacey, Ryan and Reed; brother-in-law Jim Hawkins; niece Nan and husband Richard Winton and their children Claire, Rupert, and Beatrix; niece Lindsey and husband Matt Bristow and their children Lyle, Eden, and Isla; nephew Hunt Hawkins and children Reaves, Heston, and Lorraine.
