Lodema Brewer Loveless, age 88, of Plano, Texas died peacefully on Friday September 7th at her residence. She was born on September 27, 1929 in Winnsboro, Texas, one of three children born to Oscar Clyde Brewer and Louella Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her sister Lodessa and her husband Wallace Russom and is survived by her sister Jo An Macaluso and her husband Frank who live in Pleasant Grove.
Lodema attended school in East Texas. In her early teens, she moved with her family to Plano where she graduated from Plano High School. She married the love of her life Dick Loveless on June 19, 1949 in Sherman, Texas. To that union was born one son Jim Loveless who survives her and lives with his wife Janie in Plano. Also surviving are her grandson Sam Ragsdale and his wife Misty, her great granddaughters Larryssa and Ginger Phennel and great grandson Austin Ragsdale, one great, great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Vedith
Phennel.
For over 10 years, Lodema worked alongside Dr. Mitchell, a prominent physician in Plano. She also worked a number of years for Hunt Properties, Orkin Exterminators and worked for Frank Late at Sun Oil Company as administrative assistants. Finally, after retirement from full time work, she became a valued member of the staff at Ted Dickey Funeral Home as well as active contributor to the work at Plano Mutual Cemetery. This was a passion she had shared with her late husband Dick who for many years was the sextant of the cemetery. Lodema was a longtime member of First Methodist Plano where she worked in youth ministry. She was also an accomplished artist.
Graveside services will be Monday September 10th at 3pm at the Plano Mutual Cemetery. The family will gather at the funeral home at 2pm to say their goodbyes before the graveside service.
