Larry J. Wheeler was born on February 26, 1946 in Sherman, TX. Larry was born to Jessie Mae and J.W. Wheeler. Larry joined the US Army when he was 17 and faithfully served his country. Upon completing his service, Larry returned to Plano and worked in the home building industry. It was there that he developed a love and passion for wood working and honed his carpentry skills. He owned and operated his own business in the Dallas area for over 30 years with honesty and integrity. Larry also enjoyed being with his family and friends in the great outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. More than anything, Larry can be remembered for his witty and salty remarks. All of his friends and family can recall his shenanigans and sense of humor. Through all of his silly antics, Larry was serious about his faith in Christ. He always attended church when he could and kept those with similar faith around him. Larry is survived by his loving wife Deborah. They spent 46 years alongside each other. Larry is also survived by his daughters, Kimberly Adams and Kristie Stewart, his brothers, Ronnie and Gordon Wheeler, and his sister, Brenda Wheeler. Larry is also survived by his grandchildren: Gabrielle Adams, Carter Adams, Hayden Adams, Brock Adams, Jacob Stewart, and Dylan Stewart. A Funeral service will be held for Larry at Ted Dickey Funeral Home at 2 PM on his birthday, February 26, 2015. There will be a visitation held the night before at Ted Dickey Funeral Home from 6 – 8.
