Julia was a native Texan, born on February 3, 1925 in San Angelo, Texas, to loving parents David Robert Spears and Julia Ulan Magness Spears. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1946 and went to work for Braniff Airways. She met Archie Hugh Lamb, a young Texas A&M University graduate, and married on March 11, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. They began their married life with an adventurous honeymoon in Lima and Rio de Janeiro before buying a home and starting a family in Sherman, Texas. They later moved to Dallas, joining St. Marks Presbyterian Church and raising their family. Numerous camping and canoe trips followed. In 1979, Julia and Archie moved to Richardson, Texas where they continued to enjoy updating their house, managing two rental properties, caring for their parents and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Julia was the epitome of an independent, self-sufficient person and loved to maintain her home, cook, sew, garden, and research genealogy. Nothing was too much for her to try, whether it was electrical work, plumbing or fixing clocks. She also valued healthy eating and exercise, walking 2 miles a day and mowing her lawn until she was 94! The joy of her life was caring for her husband, Archie, children, in-laws and grandchildren.
Julia was preceded in death by her father, David Robert Spears, mother, Julia Ulan Spears Scott, beloved husband of 50 years, Archie Hugh Lamb, and grandson, Mark Andrew Creasy.
Julia leaves behind her son, David James Lamb and wife Nancy James Lamb, daughter Susan Lamb Creasy and husband William Kenneth Creasy, grandson John Thomas Creasy, granddaughter Evelyn James Lamb and husband Jonathan Chaika, grandson Alan James Lamb and wife Erin Lamb, and granddaughter Rachel Lamb Mazzucco and husband Stephen Mazzucco. She also leaves behind her extended family members, Virginia Creasy Poché and Cathy Creasy Wilson. She will be missed deeply and remembered lovingly.
