Helen A.L. Liu

Helen A. L. Liu was a beloved daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, December 26, 2021 – just four days shy of her 99th birthday.

Helen was a soft-spoken yet vibrant woman who marched through life with a contagious sense of humor, a kind heart, and a fierce love for her family and friends. She was a storyteller who relished the opportunity to sit with those she loved and share knowledge and laughter from her 98 years on earth. Whether it was a lesson learned from her early life in China, a heartfelt story of her struggles, or a little piece of gossip from her last mahjong game – Helen found joy in sharing her life with those around her. If you’ve been blessed to have a conversation with her first-hand, one thing is clear – Helen always carried herself with grace and strength through all that she did.

To know Helen, was to love her. She made friends everywhere she went –whether it was the senior center, local post office, favorite restaurant, or beauty salon. We remember Helen, whom many know as Baboo, through the endless stories she shared and the love and kindness she exuded.

Helen was predeceased by her husband I-Lin Liu. She is survived by her son and daughter, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
