William Bill C. Johnson

11/11/1958 - 4/15/2011

After a three year battle with cancer, Bill Johnson passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 15, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Folsom. Loving husband of 20 years to Carol Johnson of Shingle Springs; beloved son of Leo Johnson; father of the Late William “Tony” Johnson (1992); devoted step-father of Nicole (Tracy) Latzen of Cameron Park and Adam (Cristina) Schacher of So. Lake Tahoe; brother of Sabrena (Gary) Ford, Joe (Shelle) Johnson and Deidre (Jessie) Ramirez; adoring grandfather of Makayla and Kaden Schacher and Drake Latzen. Bill also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Bill was born November 11, 1958 in Sedan, Kansas and grew up in Merced, CA. He graduated from Merced High School in 1976 before receiving a degree in Medical Imaging at Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls. Bill worked as an X-Ray Technician at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael for 10 years and then in 1999 joined D.R.I. in Sacramento. Bill was a big sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching and attending sporting events. He loved the outdoors, especially hiking, fishing and boating. Bill spent many weekends visiting the local wineries and cooking for friends, but most of all he loved vacationing in Hawaii with Carol and his family.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 5th, 2011 at 1:00pm at Green Valley Community Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Rd., Placerville, CA. Private inurnment will be held at Westwood Hills Memorial Park, Placerville. Friends may sign a guestbook and leave condolences at www.chapelofthepinesfunerals.com.
