William Bill "Bill" Carter

William H. Carter passed away at Marshall Hospital on March 9, 2011. Devoted husband of 38 years to the Late Martha Carter (Jan. 2011); Loving father of William (Dianne) Carter; Loving Step-father of Ginger (Dan) Stark and Diane Bennett; Beloved Grandfather of Kevin (Erika), Renee, Stephen, Nathan (Angie), Crystal, Gina (Stan), Jennifer (Jeff), Allison (Mark) and Melissa (Randy); great grandfather of 16 and Brother of Margaret Swafford and the Late Edna "Jo" Tamplin. Bill is also survived by his beloved caregiver of the last 5 years, Bonnie Bliss. He will be dearly missed.

A native of Georgia, Bill was 87 years old and lived in Garden Valley the last 15 years after moving from the Bay Area. He and Martha enjoyed golf, travel and gardening. Bill retired from Kelvinator Appliance Company where he had worked for 25 years as a Regional Field Representative. He was also WWII Veteran.

A visitation will begin at 11:30 am, Saturday, March 19, at Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville followed by a graveside service at Westwood Hills Memorial Park, 2720 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville at 1:00 pm.
