Susan Crow

February 14, 1951 — February 3, 2012

Susan E. Crow, 60, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2012, at Marshall Hospital in Placerville, and unexpectedly from complications from surgery. She was born at Hamilton Air Force Base near San Rafael CA, on Valentine’s Day in 1951, and was the daughter of Bill and Marcella Crow also from Placerville. Her mother preceded her in death one year earlier.

Susie graduated from El Dorado High in 1969 and Placerville was always her home. She also married Bill Singley that year and their only daughter, Vanessa Ann (Jason) of Grass Valley, CA was born in 1973. She later married Andrew Peterson who preceded her in death. Susie also leaves behind her current partner Val Pease; her dad, Bill Crow of Placerville CA; sister Candy Carruth (Otto) of Folsom CA, sister Kathie Maxey (John) of Acme WA and sister Christy Hunt (Charles) of Cameron Park CA. She was the proud grandmother of Paige and Taylor; nieces and nephews, Andrew (Lindsay), Kelly (Nicholas), Madison, Mason, Julia and Vincent. She is also survived by her uncle Allan Silva of Colton OR and cousins.

Susie worked as the school secretary at Gold Oak School for 15 years and enjoyed being around the kids. She also worked at Blue Shield in El Dorado Hills, the old Hangtown Pharmacy when it was originally on Broadway and The House Shop on Main Street in Placerville in the 1970’s.

She enjoyed gardening, music, dancing and getting together with friends. She will be remembered as free-spirited, kind, forgiving, generous, soft-hearted, nurturing, and feisty. She was very special and will be missed by many and left us way too soon.
