Craig was born May 3, 1951 in Placerville, Ca., namesake of his Mewuk grandmother, Rosa Craig. He attended grammar school in the Mother Lode Union School District, and Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs, Ca., receiving his varsity letter for wrestling.
For most of his life, Craig lived and worked within El Dorado County. He had spent several years in Coeur D’Alene Idaho while married to his first wife, Laura, raising their two young sons.
Craig was preceded in death by his younger brother Peter Urjevich, his father Allard Gustafson and his 2nd wife Tammi Slattery, all of El Dorado County.
Craig is survived by his sons Heath and Neil Gustafson and three grandchildren, his Mother Darlene Urjevich, his “Dad” Martin Urjevich, bothers Martin Urjevich and Mathew Urjevich, sisters Marie Waters, Catherine Colburn, Lisa Urjevich, Jennifer Urjevich, and Nila Bittenger and close family friend Eleanor Wicklund, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Craig was an avid fisherman. As a younger man he enjoyed deer hunting with both rifle and bow. He enjoyed country music and loved a good western movie. He and his second wife Tammi were married at the Ponderosa Ranch in Incline Village, NV in western fashion.
In recent years Craig enjoyed hanging out with his pals at the Diamond Springs Pub, watching sports on TV and the company of his family and friends.
Craig was lighthearted and witty. He had a warm and friendly smile and twinkling blue eyes.
Craig was well loved by his family and friends and will be sorely missed.
