Shirley (Zelik) "Minnie" Franceschina, age 75, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late John N. and Helen M. (Mock) Zelik on April 4, 1949.
Shirley was the sixth of seven siblings. She grew up on the North side of Pittsburgh where she attended Catholic School. Minnie was a devoted wife of nearly 55 years, known for her zest for life, her big contagious laugh, her love of music, dancing, family parties and Jimmy Buffett songs.
Minnie was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and casino extraordinaire. She loved her Iris flowers, Christmas, and was known to enjoy a strawberry daiquiri (no whipped cream) now and then.
She is survived by her beloved husband Gary L. Franceschina; Son Mark J. Franceschina and wife Cindi Franceschina of Wisconsin with grandchildren Kyle Boeck and wife Jericho Boeck, Jacqueline Halcott and husband James Halcott, and Karissa Franceschina, also great grandchildren; Kacie, Roman and Saylor.
Son Russel L. Franceschina and wife Dawn E. Franceschina of Illinois; sisters Mary Lou Renzelman of Ross, Dorothy C. Weisberg of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Ralph F. Zelik, John W. Zelik and sisters Helen E. Kim, Joan K. Urschler.
Friends are invited to the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home 1032 Perry Hwy Pittsburgh PA 15237 on Saturday October 19th, 2024 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM. A blessing service will take place at the funeral home at 7PM.
